Background: This Rwandan coffee is from a microlot taken from larger day lots and chosen for quality. It is the product of numerous small farmers who form the Abadatezuka Coop and bring their beans to the Cyato Washing Station. Coffee in this area is grown at high altitude and gets it distinct cup flavor from the regional geography—for instance, from the proximity to Lake Kivu as well as the fertile soil and bee-assisted pollination.
